Christian Education

We offer a variety of opportunities for all ages to learn about God and the salvation offered through Jesus. We hope you will join us as we grow in faith!

The three children’s Sunday School classes and Adult Bible Study are Bible-based. These classes meet on Sundays throughout the school year from 10:20-11:15 am. Starting in September of 2025, all four classes will study the same Bible passages so that parents and children can talk about them on the way home and throughout the week.

ADULT EDUCATION

Adult Bible Class - Sundays, 10:20-11:15am

The adults study the same passages as the children every week, but include topics such as word studies, the historical context of the books of the Bible, and the author's purpose in writing the passages. Discussion focuses on applying the truths of the Bible to one's life.

Men's Bible Study - 2nd and 4th Thursdays, 7:00-8:00am

The men's group gathers to study and discuss books of the Bible.

Women of Emmanuel (WE) - Various dates throughout the year (check our calendar). Women of Emmanuel gather for Bible study, book clubs, fellowship, WE Walk & Talk, and prayer building.

CHILDREN'S EDUCATION

Preschool and  Early Elementary Class - The youngest children learn about God's love through Bible stories and crafts. They follow along in Bibles that include pictures of what the stories are about. Sunday school songs and crafts are a part of the youngest children’s class.

Upper Elementary Class - These children continue to build on their knowledge of Bible stories and learn more about God's redeeming love for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Youth Class - Our middle school and high school aged students read Bible passages and then discuss how they relate to issues facing teens in the 21st century as they grow in faith.

Children's Christmas Program - Each year, our Sunday School children practice and perform an annual Christmas program during a worship service in Advent.

ADDITIONAL CLASSES

First Communion classes and New Member classes are taught as needed.

Confirmation - Older children enter into a two-year Confirmation program to help them identify with the covenant relationship God began with them in baptism. It affirms a lifelong process of maturing in Christian faith and is celebrated in a public rite. Confirmation is saying "yes" to the God who said "yes" to you in baptism.
